Faculty and staff from across Stanford streamed into Frost Amphitheater Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the start of a new academic year at the We are Stanford: Welcome to Fall ’23 event.
President Richard Saller and Provost Persis Drell welcomed the crowd as people lounged on the lawn and enjoyed lunch with colleagues. Incoming Provost Jenny Martinez joined Saller and Drell in addressing staff and thanking them for their work supporting teaching, learning, research, and core operations at Stanford.
A live band provided entertainment while colleagues danced, posed for photos, and relaxed in the sun. A virtual Welcome to Fall ’23 event for hybrid and remote faculty and staff will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14.
