Meet our faculty: Hakeem Jefferson
Scholarship is at its best when it draws upon a diverse community. In the Meet Our Faculty series, Stanford faculty members share the life experiences and interests that fuel the dynamic learning environment on campus.
Hakeem Jefferson, assistant professor in the Stanford School of Humanities and Sciences, studies questions of race and identity in American politics, with a focus on the lived experiences of the stigmatized and marginalized. His current work examines why and under what conditions African Americans come to support policies that have negative consequences for members of their racial group.
