Carl Djerassi, professor of chemistry, has received the Josiah Willard Gibbs Medal in recognition of a lifetime of outstanding chemical achievements. The award is given annually by the Chicago Section of the American Chemical Society. It was be presented at a banquet in Chicago on May 16. Past recipients include Svante Arrhenius, Madame Curie, Harold Urey, Linus Pauling and Willard Libby.
