Stanford
Medicine hot off the
press
The spring issue of the medical center's magazine Stanford
Medicine is now available.
This issue's cover story, on the new rules regulating medical
residents' work hours, describes their impact here and airs
resident and faculty opinions on the changes.
Other articles cover robots carrying out surgeries; Stanford's
success at creating a diverse medical student body and faculty --
and its remaining challenges; a student-initiated research project
revealing a cure for brain damage that's probably in your medicine
cabinet; a new column, called "Ask the Bioethicist," answering a
question about physician-assisted suicide -- and much more.
To receive a copy through the mail, phone 723-6911 or e-mail your
request to Joyce.Thomas@stanford.edu.
For those of you with on-campus addresses, remember to include your
name, department or office name and the interdepartmental mail code
and allow a few days for delivery.
