Ethics
proposals to vie for grants
All Stanford students, postdocs and staff are invited to send in
pilot project proposals that seek to explore the intersection of
bioethics and neurosciences.
Any project that focuses on ethical, legal, social or policy
dimensions is eligible, as are projects that explore the subject
from either a basic sciences angle or a clinical angle. Proposals
are also encouraged to take an interdisciplinary approach.
A total grant of $20,000 from the Stanford Bio-X Interdisciplinary
Initiatives Program will be split among four projects.
Proposals should be no longer than two single-spaced pages and
should include a resume, letters of support from two faculty
members from different fields and a budget. The proposal
description should include an overview of the project, the issues
explored and the research method along with proposed future impact
of the work.
Applicants should submit their proposals by e-mail to allisonc@stanford.edu no later
than May 21. For more information, e-mail Judy Illes, PhD, at
illes@stanford.edu.
