Research volunteers needed

Alcohol study. Volunteers are needed for a study of the possible health benefits from moderate alcohol consumption. Participants ages 35 to 65 who are overweight and/or have a family history of diabetes or heart disease are sought for the study conducted by Gerald Reaven, MD, and associates. Eligible volunteers must drink a minimal amount of alcohol (one to three drinks per week) and not have a history of diabetes, liver, kidney or heart disease or heavy drinking. Participants will receive a free medical examination, a test to evaluate risk for diabetes and heart disease, and a cholesterol panel. For more information call Sun Kim, MD, at 723-7024.
