Postdoctoral scholars Alice Fan, MD, in the Department of Medicine, division of oncology, and Paul J. Norman, PhD, in the Department of Structural Biology, were awarded grants by the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

Fan and Norman each were given two-year fellowships of $105,000 to pursue new treatments and cures for lymphoma, the most common blood cancer and the third most common cancer of childhood.

Fan’s project examining cancer genes is titled “Combined Inactivation of MYC and BCL2 to Induce Lymphoma Regression.” She works in the lab of assistant professor Dean Felsher, MD, PhD.

Norman, who works in the lab of professor Peter Parham, PhD, received the award for research titled “Impact of Natural Killer Cell Variation on Lymphoma and Transplantation Therapy.”
