Clinical
advances in academia
What is the relationship between academic
research and key discoveries that foster clinical development?
Daria Mochly-Rosen, PhD, will address the topic March 2 in a talk
titled “Can Basic Research of Heart Attacks Lead to Drug
Development in Academia?”
She will discuss the freedom to explore ideas, availability of
outstanding researchers and encouragement to translate discovery to
development that the academic setting provides.
Mochly-Rosen, the George D. Smith Professor in Translational
Medicine, is chair of the Department of Molecular Pharmacology. The
lecture is one in a series sponsored by the Office of Medical
Development.
The talk is free and open to the public and begins at 7 p.m. in the
Clark Center auditorium.
