Mark Genovese, MD, was promoted to associate
professor of medicine (immunology and rheumatology).
Genovese is chief of clinical services for the division of
immunology and rheumatology in the Department of Medicine. His
research focuses on therapies for autoimmune-based diseases. He is
lead or co-investigator on several multicenter trials for
osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus
erythematosus. He is co-author of recent articles in publications
including the Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of
Rheumatology and Nature Medicine.
Genovese is an elected fellow of the American College of
Rheumatology and the American College of Physicians. He received
his medical degree from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1992
and then joined Stanford as a resident in internal medicine and
served as chief resident. After a fellowship in immunology and
rheumatology he was appointed to the faculty in 1998.
