Sanford named editor of Stanford Report John Sanford, who has served as Stanford Report interim editor since August 2003, has been named Stanford News Service associate director for print and Stanford Report editor. Sanford, whose appointment is effective April 1, has worked at the News Service since 2000, covering the arts and humanities. He previously had worked as a reporter for the San Ramon Valley Herald and as a reporter and film critic for the Santa Cruz County Sentinel. He holds bachelor degrees in French and English from the University of California-Davis and a master of journalism degree from the University of California-Berkeley. "John is a gifted journalist who is well regarded among the faculty and his News Service colleagues," said Elaine Ray, director of the News Service. "His coverage of arts and humanities over the past four years has been outstanding and we will miss his writing. But his stint as interim editor during a very difficult time demonstrated that he is a man of many talents." Sanford succeeds James Robinson, who died Jan. 13. |
