Richard E. Gross, professor emeritus of education, dead at 83

A funeral Mass for education Professor Emeritus Richard E. Gross, who died April 2 at his home in Los Altos Hills, is scheduled at 1 p.m. today at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 473 Lincoln Ave. in Los Altos. Gross, who was 83, joined Stanford's faculty in 1955 after earning a doctorate in education here in 1951. He retired in 1990. An obituary will appear in Stanford Report on April 14.
